Becoming a member / partner

A stakeholder in the Coalition for Cellphone-Free Driving endorses and supports the initiative, working towards a common goal of safer roads through cellphone-free driving.  There are many opportunities to become involved with the Coalition as a member, partner, or silent partner.  The responsibilities and benefits of each of these roles are outlined below.

A Coalition Member

  • Has a policy in place that follows the spirit of the Coalition’s Generic Policy which bans the use of cellphones, either hand-held or hands-free, while operating a vehicle on company time.
  •  Allows the use of its company name in the Coalition’s promotional initiatives and materials.
  • Attend functions in support of the Coalition for Cellphone-Free Driving.
  • Publicly endorses the Coalition for Cellphone-Free Driving. 

Benefits of Membership

  • Receives public recognition as a Member of the Coalition.
  • Has the opportunity to provide leadership by participating on the Coalition advisory committee.
  • Will receive a numbered certificate when welcomed as a new Member. 

A Coalition Partner

  • Supports the Coalition for Cellphone-Free Driving initiative but may or may not have a policy in place.
  • Provides sponsorship or in-kind donations for the Coalition. 

Benefits of Partnership

  • Receives public recognition as a Partner with the Coalition.
  • Has the opportunity to provide leadership by participating on the Coalition advisory committee. 

A Silent Partner

  • Supports the Coalition for Cellphone-Free Driving initiative but may or may not have a policy in place.
  •  Provides sponsorship or in-kind donations without public endorsement.
  • Has the opportunity to provide leadership by participating on the Coalition advisory committee.
